Frédéric Chopin — Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21

Sergei Rachmaninoff — Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27

Pianist Yunchan Lim, the youngest-ever winner of the Van Cliburn Competition, plays Chopin's Second Concerto. Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 shows the composer’s gift for melody, from its brooding introduction to impassioned heights. In his NY Phil debut, Kazuki Yamada also conducts the U.S. premiere of Dai Fujikura's Entwine, a musical metaphor for vital human connection.
