“Catch it if you can – the future has arrived.” - Bachtrack
The young classically trained South African cellist and vocalist taking the world by storm, Abel Selaocoe presents with the daring UK-based contemporary string quartet Manchester Collective, bringing their acclaimed collaboration “Sirocco” to our stage. Celebrating the warmth and diversity of folk music traditions around the world, their program is an exuberant blend of African music, folk-inflected music by Haydn and Stravinsky, Danish folk songs, and more, expanding notions of what classical music can be. Manchester Collective’s mission is to “create intimate and intense human experiences built around live music.” This is one of them – a joyful and immersive one-of-a-kind event.

“Searing musicianship and big ideas” – The Times (London)
An artist of extraordinary and wide-ranging gifts, Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto joins us to perform a new work co-written with intrepid musician/singer-songwriter Gabriel Kahane. Part of a broad commissioning initiative by Kahane, the work features Kuusisto on violin, and Kahane on piano and vocals, demonstrating the warm baritone and poetic pianism that have distinguished him. The program also features music by Bach, and Kuusisto in solo violin works by Kahane. A concert of intense beauty that expands our ideas of new music.
One of the hidden gems among concert halls in NYC is the Buttenwieser Hall at the Arnhold Center within the 92NY Center. It has been beautifully renovated last year to accommodate a greater range of performances and events. Conveniently situated near the Q train station in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, it offers both accessibility and affordability for those seeking an enriching cultural experience.
